Jamie, what’s your job at Madera County Food Bank?
I work in the front office. My job title is Office Manager, and I do various things, but the main thing I do is assist people who are in need of food.
What are your past work experiences and background before working at Madera County Food Bank?
Before coming to work here at the Madera County Food Bank, I was a stay-at-home mom for about ten years.
What do you love about working for Madera County Food Bank?
I love that I can fulfill that at the Food Bank. Seeing people smile and the joy it brings to them by being able to help is the greatest reward.
What impact have you seen working at Madera County Food Bank?
Many people rely on our food bank for food assistance, especially during this past year with Covid. We really are the heart of Madera County, and I am blessed to be a part of such a great team here at the Madera County Food Bank.
You must have seen the need drastically increase due to the pandemic, so thank you for being committed. Do you have any stories about the people you’ve helped?
We see so many different lives that come through here that are in need. We don’t look at them from the outside; we look deeper. We look at the person’s needs and assist them by meeting their needs with resources other than food.
When you’re not working to help the people of Madera, what do you do on your days off?
On the weekends, I love spending time with my family, going to church, and relaxing when I can.
